
The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police , A.M. Bello Psc+, Mnips, has on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, presented cheques to the families of deceased police officers.
The event, which represented the culmination of the week-long activities in the State marking the 2026 National Police Day precedes the grand finale scheduled to take place at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to a press release by the command Public Relations Officer DSP Yazid Abubakar, anipr, a total sum of ₦8,450,000 was presented to sixteen (16) beneficiaries as part of ongoing efforts to support families of officers who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.
Speaking during the presentation, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP A.M Bello, psc+, mnips, described the occasion as both solemn and significant. He noted that, the gesture reflects the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force leadership to the welfare of its personnel and their families. He further assured the beneficiaries that the Force remain steadfast in its support for them.
In a vote of appreciation, one of the beneficiaries, Bashir Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Zamfara State Police Command for the kind gesture. He stated that the support would go a long way in alleviating the financial challenges faced by the families and prayed for continued strength and success for the Nigeria Police Force.
The Commissioner reiterated that the sacrifices of fallen officers will never be forgotten.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support provided and assured them of the Force continued solidarity.
