The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, has commissioned a fleet of commercial vehicles provided by Amana Ride, a Sokoto-based transportation company.
The occasion was held at the company’s premises in Shiyar Nufawa, Sokoto North Local Government Area.
During the event, the Deputy Governor commended the company’s foresight in increasing the number of commercial vehicles in the state, describing the investment as timely.
He noted that it would provide job opportunities for youths and acknowledged the efforts of the Managing Director, Dr. Shadi Sabeh, who has brought significant development to the state through his various educational institutions.
The Deputy Governor urged the drivers to be just and fair in the conduct of their duties.
In his remarks, Dr. Sabeh stated that the company had procured the vehicles to enhance smooth transportation for the people of the state, increase commercial transport options, and reduce transportation fares.
Dr. Sabeh added that all drivers operating the company’s vehicles had undergone training by the FRSC, NDLEA, and Islamic scholars to ensure professionalism.
He also highlighted that the company serves as a financial investment opportunity, funded by investors’ capital contributions, an initiative he noted is lacking in many parts of Northern Nigeria.
