Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko on Monday joined hundreds of sympathizers at the funeral prayer for Abubakar Isah Saddiq Achida in Sokoto.
Late Abubakar was the son of the APC Zonal Secretary, North-West and former State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Isah Saddiq Achida. The Janazah prayer was held at the family residence in Mabera, Sokoto metropolis.
The young Achida died after a protracted illness and is survived by a wife and a child.
Commiserating with the family, Governor Ahmed Aliyu described death as inevitable end and admonished the family to take solace in the will of Almighty Allah.
The governor said he was deeply shocked by the news of the death and prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his righteous deeds and admit him into Jannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for Allah to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Special prayers were offered for the deceased and for all departed Muslim faithful.
The funeral prayer was attended by former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Dattijo, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, APC State Chairman, Hon. Haruna S. G. Adiya, members of the State Executive Council, legislators, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and other party leaders and stakeholders.
