Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko representing Sokoto North Senatorial district, has distributed improved rice seeds to small-scale farmers across Wamakko Local Government Area to boost wet-season farming and food production.
The Permanent Secretary and Overseer of the Senator’s Administration Office, Alhaji Almustapha Abubakar Alkali, said the intervention was designed to improve crop yields, strengthen food security and enhance rural livelihoods.
The initiative, according to the Senator’s SA on Media and Publicity, Bashar Abubakar, was aimed to complement the Sokoto State Government’s free fertiliser distribution programme.
Beneficiaries from several communities thanked Senator Wamakko for supporting agricultural development and improving the livelihoods of rural farmers.
The permanent secretary was assisted by the General Manager of FASCO, Umar Yari, and Executive Secretary, Arabic Board, Ahmed Baba Altine.
