The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, alongside the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, led the solemnisation of ten marriages held at Senator Wamakko’s residence in the Gawon Nama area of Sokoto metropolis.

The marriages were conducted following the presentation of dowries to the brides, in accordance with Islamic injunctions, during a well-organised ceremony that strictly adhered to religious teachings.

The Sarkin Malaman Sokoto, Sheikh Malam Bello na Malam Boyi, officiated the marriage rites, offering prayers and wishing the couples a blessed union, peace, and lasting marital success.

Similarly, the Chief Imam of Mabera Mosque, Malam Bello Akwara, offered special prayers, seeking Allah’s blessings for the marriages and praying for peace, love, and righteous offspring for the couples.

The event attracted several high-profile dignitaries, including the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi; the Minister of State for Works, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo; and the former Deputy Governor, Barrister Muktari Shagari. Others in attendance included commissioners, special advisers, local government chairmen, religious leaders, politicians, and members of the business community, among others.
