The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Ahmed Aliyu, has approved the constitution of the 2026 Sokoto State Hajj Delegation to oversee and coordinate all activities related to the 2026 Hajj operations in Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
A statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Abubakar Bawa, said the 13-member delegation will be led by the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Katukan Sokoto, who has been appointed as _Amirul Hajj_.
Other members of the delegation include:

According to the statement, the committee has the following Terms of Reference:
i. Plan, coordinate, supervise, and ensure successful 2026 Hajj operations in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
ii. Supervise the activities of sub-committees in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia for the successful implementation of the 2026 Hajj operations.
iii. Ensure appropriate arrangements for the accommodation, feeding, and general welfare of the state’s pilgrims.
iv. Perform any other duties necessary to ensure the success of the 2026 Hajj operations.
The Governor expressed confidence in the capacity, experience, and integrity of the delegation to deliver a seamless and spiritually fulfilling Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Sokoto State.
