Gov Aliyu Presides Over Special Prayer for Wamakko at 73

Sokoto State Governor,Dr. Ahmed Aliyu has presided over a special prayer session in honour of former Governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday.

The prayer session was held at the Usman bin Affan Jumu’at Mosque Gawon Nama, Sokoto, and drew a large gathering of dignitaries, political associates, and well-wishers who came together to celebrate the elder statesman and offer prayers for his continued wellbeing.

Among those in attendance were former Governor of the old Sokoto State, Malam Yahaya Abdulkarim; the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga; the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim Kware; the state APC Chairman,Alhaji Isah Sadiq Achida,the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Sifawa; commissioners; special advisers; Islamic scholars; traditional rulers; business leaders; and other prominent personalities.

Special supplications were offered by five Islamic scholars: Malam Bashir Gidan Kanawa, Professor Jabir Sani Maihulla, Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal, Malam Nafiu Dan Haja, and Malam Faruk Labbo, Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to the Governor.

The clerics prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, good health, wisdom, and long life for Senator Wamakko, while also seeking divine blessings for peace, unity, and sustained development in Sokoto State.

Born on April 1, 1953, Senator Wamakko was commended for his enduring contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Sokoto State.

The event also provided an opportunity for leaders, associates, and citizens to reflect on Senator Wamakko’s legacy as a transformative political figure who championed grassroots development, education, and infrastructural growth in Sokoto State.
